Chickenman

Promotional 45 from 1972 selling the "Triumphant return of Chickenman" to radio stations.
Each side of the record is a typical sales pitch- 'Buy our product, and it'll make you loads of money...'  They are both over 7 minutes long, so i just included the two sample episodes, which are two and a half, and one and a half minutes each. The whole things available through the last link there.

HERE'S a little detailed info on the Chickenman series.

Beautician Blues

I don't know why he's got the blues, sounds to me like he's got it made... These old Kent B.B. sides are some of the best electric guitar sounds ever etched into vinyl. The 'sizzlin bacon' only adds to it if you ask me.

Enjoy!

Too many rats

Private press 45 that i picked up for 50 cents the other day... Nothin but a couple kick ass hard drivin heavy rock tunes, played the way only a couple black dudes could play them--
Fucking amazing is how.
I'm guessing mid to late 80s...

In my poking round the intertubes, i learned that these guys are still at it. Still playing locally in and around the Chicago area. They have a facebook page and everything... Who knew? I might have to take in a Juzt Nutz gig sometime... Until then, we'll just dig on these two tunes.

Enjoy!

Cherry Divinity radio spot

Picked up this gem at one of the many stops along the Worlds Longest Yardsale last week. I wasn't expecting much but i still like hearing these old radio spots on 45, and for 50 cents i couldn't pass it by. Turns out, its actually a couple of really funny commercials featuring a fake rock band called "The Electric Lip." The flip has ads for a cottage cheese, which are chuckle worthy but not as good as the Electric Lip ones.

Here's one cut from each side. Enjoy!

The man in the red fez

One of the many gems i picked up this year along the 'World's longest yard sale.' It was a LOT of fun, but it's also nice to not be in a van, or walking around in the heat, ankle-deep in Kentucky horse mud...

I've spent the better part of today recording and scanning my new purchases, so there's plenty more where this came from. Stay tuned for some really odd ball stuff...

Enjoy!
