One of my favorite styles of music from the 50s and 60s, and i don't even know what it's called- or if it even really has a proper label. It's the one with a generic musical backing track and a dude talking to (or at) a woman who may or may not be talking back, or in this case- laughing uncontrollably.
In this one, the fellow is getting nowhere with the lady. He's got a new car, brought her chocolates, got his only suit cleaned, and she just laughs... Non stop. Laughing at the poor sap. Finally he tells her to shut up, and the song is over. It's a beautiful thing.
Next time we'll hear how the other half lives. Some sloppy piano music behind a drunken giggle fest at a snooty restaurant. One of my all time favorites. Stay tuned.
