Music to Klak by
I did a little nosing around the webernets and dug up this little nugget of information on an old ebay listing. Apparently, this record is a: Rare promotional 45 used to advertise the Klak-Stik, a long gone obscure toy. Features Lee Rand on vocals and the Al Serafini orchestra.
Enjoy!

Let's GO!

Ladies and gents, it's that time of year again. Late September is a special time here at Junk Shop Juke Box headquarters... That's right folks, it's time for my third annual Pledge Drive.
All i'm asking is for the meager sum of forty dollars, and here's how YOU can help. See that little Pay Pal button up there in the right hand corner of the page? I'm asking YOU, dear reader/listener/downloader to consider sending a dollar or two my way. One or two measley bucks. What i am asking is not for personal gain, it is simply to purchase a one year DivShare account (my current one year subscription will expire in about a weeks time.) The price- a mere $39.99, for another whole year of my scratchy old records! Please folks, donate one dollar or two, together we'll keep this thing alive for yet another go-round.
This same DivShare account also stores the songs that appear in my Little Golden Records blog, (which if you haven't already, you ought to check out.) It's selections from my collection of vintage children's records.
When i reach my $40.00 goal i'll do a post thanking all the generous folks who donated, and call the whole thing off. I'm not a greedy man, i'm not out to make a profit here, a mere $40.00 is all i need. And YOU, dear reader, can help by donating a dollar or two to this worthy cause.
Thank you in advance for your support.
As always, Enjoy the music!
Let's go where the action is.

The mad rush
Well folks, the mad rush to $40 is still on.
I'm nearly half way to my ultimate goal thanks to the generous contributions from Anthony, Bob, Jeff, Alexander, and Ian. But i still need your help.
A measley buck or two will make more of a difference than you could imagine.
Here's a little ditty to keep you company while you check out the pay pal page.
Thanks in advance for your generosity
Enjoy!

Bay country wild geese
This record sums up how i feel about Blogger's "New and improved" interface, and if i was able to put in so many words, just about how much it makes sense to me... Why would the powers that be make the site more difficult to use? Is this a joke? .
Those of you who use the site to host blogs of your own know what i'm talking about, and may (or may not) even agree with me. Those of you who just pass by to browse and listen, well, you just keep on doing what you've been doing all along because it still looks the same on your end. Thanks, as always, fer stoppin by.
I found seven or eight of these animal call records a few weeks ago at the same time. Some are more instructional, with an actual human narrator, and a few are like this one, featuring nothing but the animal sounds... Both sides were actually around six minutes long, this here's just a quick sample.
Enjoy!?

Superstar
I couldn't think of a better song for my 666th post than this one. I'm actually a huge fan of this whole album, and have been for like 2000 years... Ian Gillian (The singer of Deep Purple) as Jesus? Come on people- it doesn't get much better than that.
(Get the one that comes in a plain ass brown cover, double LP. I personally refer to that one as the 'acid rock version.' Don't waste your time on any of those other Broadway cast versions or whatever else. You'll only be disappointed.)
This track, featuring Murray Head as Judas, is by far one of the best on the album. He's going ape-shit. He's all like: Jesus- What the fuck? What were you thinking? All the while, rocking his ass off.
Dig it!

I'm movin on
September the first marks a sad occasion. Guitar player, singer, and greatest sidekick on the big screen, Jerry Reed passed away in 2008.
Here's one of his early efforts. He doesn't actually sing on this one, but dig that wild fuzz guitar...
Enjoy!
