Underwater
I've had this tune on the Rhino surf box set since forever, but it's nice to have an actual vinyl copy too. It's a little scratchy, but considering that it was one of more than 70 records i picked up for 40 bucks the other day, i can't complain.

Fun and funk
I don't know much, but a misused apostrophe in the name of the group is usually a sign of good sounds to come. Nobody ever said that perfect grammar was necessary in order to cut a rockin funk record. Also, the fact that it's a part two and part three record made me want to- nay, need to own it... What i want to know is, where is part one? And does part four even exist? So many unanswered questions... I guess we'll never know.
Stick around for part three, you'll be glad you did.
Enjoy!

Off to my third eleven hour shift in a row at ye olde bicycle shoppe. Ugh. I'm gonna be sweating bike grease and pissing chain lube by the end of the day...

She's on it
Unless you just woke up from a coma, everybody knows that Adam Yauch died last week. Me, i'm just getting around to my tribute now. He was always my favorite Beastie Boy. Sad to see him go.
Here's a cool b-side from the Licence To Ill days. Anyone else remember the video for this one? They are on the beach with a hilariously oversized bottle of spanish fly pills, and the hijinks ensue... I oughtta youtube that one...
Ahh The Beastie Boys. Always about having fun, no matter what the music sounded like, and it almost always sounded good... This ones for MCA.

Funky Walk (East)
Funky walk east. He does all right, but this guy doesn't have the greatest grasp on American geography. He hops from Philadelphia over to Detroit and Chicago, which is fine, close enough. Then he goes back to Boston and D.C. Toward the end he calls out Houston, Tx. It's supposed to be east, because the flip side is west. Either way it's a serious slab of funk, the flip being the same thing only with west coast cities called out. I like thi sside better because i like these cities better.

Land of 1000 dances
I said a naa- na na na naa, na na na naa, na na na, na na na, na na na na naa.
I love records that sound like this. It's just too bad that they had to add the fake screaming audience sound effects. So live, noisy, and sloppily perfect otherwise.

Mexican Hat Dance
I blew it and missed Cinco De Mayo yesterday. Day late and a dollar short- Story of my life right there... How about a couple of traditional favorites from an old kids record on May the 6th. Maybe it'll help soothe that Margarita hangover...
Man, they don't make music like this for the younguns anymore, this side sounds like a low rent Herb Alpert, especially the second song. Stick around for that, you'll be glad you did, and if you want to hear more and/or see the picture sleeve, check THIS out.

Banana- What a crazy fruit!

So- DivShare is on the blink for the second day in a row. The on screen players that already exist seem to work all right, i'm just not able to upload anything new...
Here's an oldie from the archives. Originally posted over a year ago.
One of the stupidest records i own, and one of my favorites for the same reason.

you make me feel so good
Found this one recently, I didn't remember it by title but as soon as i dropped the needle on the record i quickly discovered that it was a cover of a Zombies tune. (Hear the original HERE.)
Cool stuff. Chicago's own Buckinghams do it justice for sure.
