In the jailhouse now

So far in Country music week, i've featured records that tackle such topics such as drinking beer with ones buddies, driving a truck, and dealing with a no good woman the old fashioned way.
The usual stuff. What else is there, you ask? Well, there's always prison. Short stays, or long stays, prison is always a real drag.

Here's a song about it.
Enjoy!

Prison songs as well as train songs also have a long tradition in American Folk and Country music. Just take a few examples both traditional origins and from composers: "I'm Here to Get My Baby Out of Jail," "Long Lost John," "In the Jailhouse Now," "Life to Go," "Folsom Prison Blues," a hundreds of others!

"Care of cell 44" by the Zombies is one of my favorite 60's rock tunes about being in, or knowing someone who is/was in jail. It's timeless subject matter.
