Who's on first
A fine selection here to wrap up a weeks worth of baseball themed sounds. This will be the last one, i promise. After this we'll get back to our regularly scheduled programming of random ass whatever crap that strikes my fancy on any given day.
This one's a pretty cool mystery record. Blank white labels with hand written titles. On the flip side is a Telly Savalas tune- I'm not even making this up. Hear it HERE. A long time record shop owner that i used to know (an old dude who has run a place since punk was actually relevant) told me that they used to do one-off 45s like this for jukeboxes. Songs that employees and/or barflys wanted to hear, but that weren't actually available on 45. How true is it? Who knows- the guy sold more reefer than he did vinyl... I'm not stating any facts here, you just take what you hear and pass it on. Nice guy though, i don't think he would have lied to me. So this is what it is. What the hell was whoever had the record made thinking is what i want to know? Abbot and Costello and Telly Savalas? Such an unlikely pairing. We'll never know. I'm just glad that i found it and gave it a good home.
It's nothing more than the classic 'Who's on first' routine which, if you ask me, is a timeless bit of comedy from a bygone era. Still makes me laugh out loud every time i listen to it...
Hear it again for the first time yourself.
Enjoy!
get it

Unfortunately, can't get the links to play. Is it just me?
;-(
Hmmm- They work for me... Don't know what to tell you.
not just this one...all the divshare links aren't working...it keeps saying "500 - Internal Server Error"
btw, i'm a different anonymous that that other commenter previously
It must be a problem with the DivShare site. I just checked Derek's Daily 45, and 45 Blog, (who both use the same DivShare player) and neither of them seem to be working either.
It sucks, but it happens once in a while. All i can say is give it some time...
