excusez moi mon cherie
Man, has it been a rough month for the horn section or what..? Clarence Clemons passed away on Saturday, and just last night i learned that Alan Rubin, better known to you and me as 'Mr. Fabulous' died on June 8th. Mr. Fabulous was the trumpet player in the Blues Brothers band. His character was the one who had the high class maitre d' gig when Jake and Elwood found him and told him that they were "putting the band back together."
Here's a lesser heard selection from the Blues Brothers. It's not featured in the movie anyway. Of the three 45s i have, this track is the most horn-heavy. (Hear another one HERE) I've got to assume that the sax solo in the middle was provided by Lou "Blue Lou" Marini, but Alan Rubin can be heard throughout.
This one's for Mr. Fabulous. Joining that rapidly growing horn section in the sky.
get it
